Orchestra

Orchestra is a big musical ensemble that has small group lessons once per week with the strings teacher, Mrs. Ells, during the school day and rehearses as a big group on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to prepare for their various school assemblies and evening concerts held throughout the year. Concert Orchestra is made up of second-year string players who play the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Beginning Orchestra is made up of first-year players who play the violin, viola, cello and double bass. Both orchestras are made up of fourth and fifth graders from both Huth Road and Kaegebein elementary schools in the Grand Island Central School District.

Anyone in fourth and fifth grade can join at the beginning of the school year. They should contact Mrs. Mary Kate Ells for more information. Concert Orchestra beginsΒ in SeptemberΒ and lasts until May. Beginning Orchestra begins February and lasts through May.
