Reflections Program

Kaegebein PTA is proud to be participating in this year’s Reflections program!

At the PTA, we believe “All children deserve opportunities to explore and be involved in the arts”. Does your child love art or have a creative flair? If so, he/she probably would enjoy entering a piece in this year’s Reflections program, a National PTA art program. Students have the opportunity to use their creative talents and express themselves through their own original works. Students will focus their creativity on this year’s theme. Each year, a new theme is selected.  Students will be told the theme in their classroom once it is announced to our Kaegebein PTA.

All children deserve opportunities to explore and be involved in the arts. The arts play a critical role in students’ success in school and beyond, enhancing their reading and language skills, mathematics skills, thinking skills, social skills, and motivation to learn.

Students who participate in the Reflections Program get an opportunity to explore the arts and culture, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills and recognize themselves as artists.

Families can support their children’s participation by creating time and space for students to work on their entries, providing encouragement and needed materials and volunteering to support the Reflections Program.

All students are welcome to interpret the theme and explore the arts, including students with special needs. We have a Special Artist Division just for those participants.

Categories for entries are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance.

Only original pieces, tailored to the theme can be accepted. The Kaegebein deadline for entries will be stated in the paperwork sent home with your student. The paperwork will also include the theme and the requirements for the reflection.

(**No late entries can be accepted**)

Please refer to the Rules for your category of choice. (PDF files listed below)

Students are placed into the following judging categories: Primary - preschool to 2nd grade; Intermediate - 3rd to 5th grade.
